Workshop on Disaster Research at NC State: Insights from Hurricane Florence and Other Events

Nearly 50 members of faculty, staff and students across disciplines participated in flash-talks and round table discussions at the Workshop on Disaster Research at NC State: Insights from Hurricane Florence and Other Events April 18th, 2019.  The purpose of the workshop was to discuss 2018’s Hurricane Florence and other events and to identify opportunities to leverage rapid-response research to advance long-term and large-scale research, education, and engagement initiatives. Dr. Angela Harris (Assistant Professor, Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering) co-convened the event with Dr. Gavin Smith (Professor, Landscape Architecture, College of Design) and Dr. Bethany Cutts (Assistant Professor, Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, College of Natural Resources).
