Derek Aday

 

Dr. Derek Aday is the Department Head of Applied Ecology. Dr. Aday and his lab research aquatic ecology, conservation biology, fishery science, and environmental toxicology. The group studies challenges associated with the conservation and management of game and nongame fish, the complexities surrounding invasive species, the effects of marine pollutants on human health and wildlife, and the community ecology and movement patterns of various fish populations as a result of environmental stressors. Dr. Aday has led service learning programs in Belize and Uganda that focus on the challenges of access to clean water in low income areas and communities.
