Ryan Emanuel

 

Ryan Emanuel is an Associate Professor of Forestry and Environmental Resources. He is an expert in hydrology, coastal science, and environmental science. His research focuses on ecohydrology, watershed hydrology, watershed biogeochemistry, and secondary ecosystem succession. Dr. Emanuel began researching the Lumbee Native American culture and water, and is now developing an environmental history of the Lumbee community. Dr. Emanuel advocated for the indigenous groups in the processes of the pipeline projects to promote environmental justice and understand the impacts. In 2016, he became a University Scholar.
