Dr. Sankar Arumugam is a Professor in Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and a University Faculty Scholar. His research interests focus on the intersection of climate and water management, particularly large-scale hydroclimatology. He conducts research through modeling and predicting large-scale climate data for enhancing the management of water and energy, and using immediate climate data to improve the sustainable development and management of freshwater systems. He leads a National Science Foundation project that evaluates the impacts of hydro-ecology over a region of the US. Additionally, Dr. Arumugam serves as an Editor for a variety of publications including the Journal of Hydrology, Water Resources Research, and Journal of Hydrologic Engineering.
