Stefano Longo

 

Dr. Stefano Longo is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. He is an environmental sociologist, analyzing the interactions between social and ecological systems. Dr. Longo researches marine ecology, political economy, and globalized food systems. He published in a range of journals including Social Problems, Social Forces, Rural Sociology, and The Sociological Quarterly. Longo co-authored The Tragedy of the Commodity, a book about the role of human impact and influence in the global crisis of marine ecosystems, which won the 2017 Paul Sweezy Marxist Sociology Book Award from the American Sociological Association.
